You can soon find out what OUR favourite things are, we’re delighted to announce our 2016 Autumn concert.
Entitled “Our Favourite Things”, we are delighted to bring to you an evening of songs from modern musicals.
The concert will take place at Bingley Methodist Church on Saturday 26th November at 7.30pm. Tickets cost a mere £10 for a musical feast and can be purchased by telephoning 01274 568617.
We are delighted to announce that in 2017 Bingley Gilbert and Sullivan Society will be presenting Iolanthe.
Perhaps one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s best loved operettas, Iolanthe transports the audience to the House of Lords via a visit to a group of rather lovely fairies.
One not to be missed!
Did you know our very talented juniors are putting on their own, traditional version of The Pirates of Penzance?
We have a group of 34 youngsters aged from 4 to 11 who have been working incredibly hard to bring you a simply stunning show. Our junior production always proves to be popular and gets a superb review.
The show will take pride of place as our matinee performance on Saturday 23rd April 2016 at The Arts Centre, Bingley at 3pm. The performance lasts just an hour with an interval so is a perfect way to introduce younger children to the delights of Gilbert and Sullivan!
For tickets please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your requirements.
Our 2016 Production of The Pirates of Penzance is a true family affair!
L-R Margaret Holliss, Isabella Earl, Sarah Earl
Our Chairman Margaret Holliss will be treading the boards once more, this time as a Pirate, whilst her eldest daughter Sarah Earl is one half of our brand new and exciting production team. Sarah’s daughter Isabella (aged 11) is making her full debut in the chorus as one of Major-General Stanley’s many daughters! It is quite an achievement to have three members of the female line of a family in one production, and we’re very proud of them all!
In addition to producing the main production, Sarah is also producing the children’s version of The Pirates of Penzance with a cast of 34 five to eleven year olds – no small undertaking – with Isabella taking the stage as Ruth, the piratical maid of all work. In addition, Isabella’s two brothers and two cousins will be in the chorus as pirates, policemen and a very small daughter!
Please do come and support our family affair. As always, tickets are available from the Bingley Arts Centre Box Office on 01274 567983 or online via Ticketsource.
This year we are joining in the celebrations for Frederick’s natal day by putting on a riotous version of The Pirates of Penzance. Staying true to Gilbert & Sullivan’s wonderful music and libretto, we are setting the scene somewhere very different……
Why not join us and find out where those dastardly Pirates of Penzance will be doing their buccaneering!
Bingley Gilbert and Sullivan Society are delighted to announce their forthcoming production of The Pirates of Penzance……with a twist.
With all the beauty of Sullivan’s original score and the wit of Gilbert’s libretto in tact, our new young and vibrant production team have put a more modern and exciting setting on arguably the best loved of the Savoy Operas.
